Spec Sheet: Off-Grid Credenza

In the spring of 2023, we presented Colony’s final group exhibition in our second floor Canal Street loft: The Knockoff Show. The show invited our roster of designers to explore the line between dupe and inspiration. It felt personal and passionate—unfortunately they’ve all been knocked off at one point or another. 

Grain‘s Off-Grid Credenza was an absolute standout, highlighting how a reference to craft and history can make a contemporary design all the more nuanced. The credenza’s checkered pattern and swinging doors take inspiration from the distinctive checkerboard and functional pivot hinge of a door made by an unnamed Baule artist in the late 19th century. The Off-Grid Credenza was produced in a limited-edition capacity and has reached the end of its run. The original will be the last one available and we would love for it to find a permanent home in the right collection. Please reach out for pricing and delivery information.
