Vibes Only: Phantom Thread

The set and costume design of Paul Thomas Andersons’ 2017 film, Phantom Thread, reflects the glamor of a 1950’s post-war London. Daniel Day Lewis plays a renowned dress maker who falls in love with a waitress-turned-muse enacted by Vicky Krieps. The obsessive and immaculate garment construction, which consumes Lewis’ character, is reflected in a plot as much about control as it is about love.

Inspired by the film’s elegance, we’ve pulled together a selection of tailored forms from our collection which bring the post-war set into the present.
