Spec Sheet: Vonnegut/ Kraft Mairea Mirror

The Mairea Mirror by Vonnegut/Kraft takes its name from Alvar Aalto’s iconic Villa Mairea in Western Finland. Aalto’s lengthy career spanned 6 decades and multiple mediums. Along with his wife Aino, Aalto took a holistic approach to his projects, designing his own furniture and even glassware to fill his interiors. The curves of the pool and sunken serpentine wall of the villa are echoed here in the Mairea Mirror.  Its organic form and lustrous Sapele frame imbue this piece with a sense of motion further emphasized by systematic grooves in the hardwood.
