Thomas Yang Studio | Ama Chair

The Ama Chair is a delicate balance of opposing forces. The chair’s joinery pushes and pulls—with, and against—to create moments of stillness. Yang’s Ama, Chin Yin Wu, was an artist, a mother, a daughter, and a sister. Kind but stern, delicate but tough, thoughtful but clumsy, serious but funny; a study in balance.
